Musée du LouvreThe main entrance to the Louvre Museum is the glass pyramid in the Cour Napoleon; a second entrance from the Carrousel du Louvre; and there is a third entrance, the Passage Richelieu between Place de Palais-Royal and the Cour Carrée, for Friends of the Louvre (Amin du Louvre), groups and visitors to the auditorium and restaurant only.
A further entrance, the Porte des Lions is to be opened in 1998.

The Museum is open Mon. and Wed.—Sun.9am-6pm; on Mondays the three wings are open in rotation until 9.45pm, on Wednesdays the whole museum.
The rooms begin to close al5.30-9.30pm respectively. The special exhibitions, rooms on the history of the Louvre, the exhibition on the medieval Louvre, the museum bookshop, the Restaurant Grand Louvre and the Café du Louvre, all on the mezzanine level, are open daily until 10pm. During construction work on the Grand Louvre some rooms are temporarily closed; information on the present position can be obtained at the information desk or from the electronic indicators in the reception area under the pyramid.
