Play a board game

Gather around you the people who would most enjoy this activity and set aside at least three hours to play something that draws out your skill, luck, level of teamwork, stamina, concentration, and ability to lose yourself in an atmosphere that you and your friends have created.

Have a marathon game of Monopoly. Pretend you are a child and re-create the hours you used to spend sitting around a board, throwing dice, moving markers, drawing cards, building hotels on Boardwalk.

Better yet, involve some children, and see how seriously they take the game. Play Clue, or Risk, or Candyland. The point is to create an entirely different reality, to leave aside the seriousness of the adult world for the playfully mysterious ways of childhood.
