The rising fuel costs issue already impacted many segment of market. Although the Indonesian government not raise the fuel prices yet, but almost all of the goods seller are already raised the prices.
The price of crude oil has risen rapidly in the global market up to US$120.00 per barrel, and is estimated will be raise to US$200.00 per barrel soon. Regarding the crude oil prices, Indonesian Government already announced the plan of raising the gasoline price up to IDR6,600 per liter from the previous price of IDR4,500 per liter, effective from June 1, 2008.
Many reactions had emerged to the government’s announcement. Most of Indonesian people, especially the university students disagreed about the government’s decision to rise up the gasoline price, and as the expression of their disappointment to the government, they conducted demonstration. But I think it won’t works. I bet, the government will implement the decision, and it is ought to be that way.
Rather than gripe for nothing, it’s better to make ourselves useful. I mean, what are our ideas—as a young educated generation—to cope with this condition. Maybe by invent new technology to recoup the recent machines that fully depend on fossil fuel, and substitute them with the new biofuel machinery.
