Spend the day with a child

Spend the day with a child, either your own or someone else’s, and see the world through his or her eyes.
Let the child lead you. Do whatever it is she wants to do, for however long she wants to do it. Have no judgments about her activities. Adopt the same air of importance that a young boy ascribes to collecting rocks and placing them in a paper bag, or that a five-year-old girl gives to pretending she is a ballerina. Pretend along with her.
Do whatever it takes to become a child for the time you spend with him or her. Forget for the moment that you are an adult with cares, concerns, worries, problems and irritations. Have the ideas come from the child, and enjoy them along with her.
